Who We Are

Illuminating Your Path to Seamless Global Transport

Our Journey

A timeline of growth, dedication, and innovation

2008

The Beginning

Started out with just two trucks and a dream. We were handling local cross-border runs between Vancouver and Seattle - nothing fancy, but we got the job done right every single time.

2012

Going International

Expanded into air and sea freight forwarding. That's when we really started connecting Canadian businesses to global markets - learned a ton about customs regulations the hard way.

2016

Cold Chain Mastery

Added temperature-controlled logistics to our lineup. Pharmaceuticals and perishables became our specialty - can't mess around when someone's shipment needs to stay at -20°C across continents.

2019

Warehousing Network

Opened our first distribution center in Surrey. Now we could offer end-to-end solutions - pickup, storage, and delivery all under one roof. Changed the game for our clients.

2022

Heavy Haul Division

Started moving specialized heavy equipment. Mining machinery, construction gear - the big stuff that needs permits and careful planning. Our crews love the challenge.

2025

Today & Tomorrow

We're moving thousands of shipments monthly across air, sea, and ground. Still family-owned, still focused on doing right by our clients. The future's looking bright.

The folks who make it all happen

Marcus Chen

Marcus Chen

Founder & CEO

Been in logistics since '98. Started Luminar Vex after seeing too many companies treat freight like just numbers on a spreadsheet.

Sarah Kowalski

Sarah Kowalski

Operations Director

Ran warehouse ops for a major retailer before joining us. She's the reason our distribution centers actually work like clockwork.

James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez

Customs Brokerage Lead

Former CBSA officer who knows every regulation inside out. Nothing gets stuck at the border on his watch - guy's a legend.

Priya Sharma

Priya Sharma

Cold Chain Manager

Biochemist turned logistics pro. She'll tell you exactly why your vaccines need -80°C storage and how we'll maintain it across three continents.

Derek Thompson

Derek Thompson

Fleet & Heavy Haul Supervisor

Been driving trucks for 25 years. Now he coordinates our heavy equipment moves - if it weighs 50 tons, Derek's your guy.

Emily Grant

Emily Grant

Client Relations Manager

The voice you'll hear when things get complicated. She's solved more shipping nightmares than anyone I know - clients love her.

What Drives Us

Not just corporate speak - these actually matter to us

Look, we get it - you've probably heard every logistics company promise "on-time delivery" and "reliable service." Here's the difference: when we say your shipment arrives Tuesday at 2pm, that's not a suggestion. We've built our entire reputation on showing up when we say we will.

Our dispatch team tracks every single load in real-time. If there's gonna be a delay - weather, customs holdup, whatever - you'll know about it before we do. Had a client once tell us we were "annoyingly punctual." We took that as a compliment.

Cookie-cutter solutions don't work in this business. Every shipment's got its own quirks - maybe it's oversized, temperature-sensitive, needs special permits, or has tight deadlines. We don't just shrug and say "that's how we do it."

Our team actually sits down and figures out the best route for YOUR specific cargo. Sometimes that means combining different transport modes, sometimes it's finding a warehouse closer to your destination, sometimes it's just picking up the phone and talking to customs directly. Whatever works.

We're gonna be honest with you - sometimes brutally so. If your packaging isn't gonna survive the trip, we'll tell you. If customs is likely to flag your documentation, we'll catch it before it becomes a problem. If there's a cheaper way to ship something, we'll mention it even if it means less profit for us.

Too many companies in this industry hide behind jargon and automated responses. Not our style. You'll get a real person who knows your account, speaks plain English (or French, or Mandarin - we've got you covered), and won't BS you about timelines or costs.

Yeah, we mess up sometimes. Had a shipment go to the wrong warehouse last month - totally our fault. The difference is what happened next: we fixed it immediately, covered all the extra costs, and changed our verification process so it won't happen again.

Every quarter we review what went wrong and what went right. Our drivers give feedback on routes, warehouse staff suggest better storage methods, office folks find ways to cut red tape. We've been doing this for 17 years and we're still learning new tricks. That's the fun part.

This applies to everyone - clients, drivers, warehouse workers, customs agents, everyone we deal with. Our drivers get home on weekends. Our warehouse staff have actual benefits. Our office folks aren't glued to their desks until midnight.

Turns out when you treat people like humans instead of resources, they stick around and do better work. Crazy concept, right? We've got drivers who've been with us for over a decade. That kind of experience and loyalty shows up in how they handle your cargo.
